Great Opportunities for Advancing Leaders
Elementary, Middle and High School youth are trained in health classes of schools by trained facilitators on Risky Behavior prevention methods to help them to make healthy decisions.
Risky Behavior Prevention
Youth go through eight sessions on teen pregnancy, substance abuse, bullying prevention and gun violence. Leaders in the program are then recruited to be in an afterschool leadership council.
How & Where
United to Rise partners with other community based organizations, school health departments, & faith based organizations to provide the risky behavior prevention workshops and training. Trainers have round table discussions with participants, tell real life situational stories, participate in role play and have guest speakers come in to talk with the youth. Pre-Post Assessments are done to ensure students retain the information from the program.
